Barbara Plaschke

Barbara is an experienced laboratory manager and technician in the lab of Prof Jörg Vogel with 30 years of working experience. Barbara received her laboratory technical degree at the Botanical Institute of Würzburg in 1992. She worked at the Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology until 2000 where she did diagnostic research involving intestinal E. coli. Afterwards, she worked on uropathogenic E. coli using a variety of methodologies. From 2010 until now Barbara has been working in the Vogel lab where she manages the ordering and the routine logistics of the lab. She also performs different experiments on multiple projects, including gene cloning, cell culture techniques, radioactive protocols, structure probing, and protein- and RNA-based protocols like Northern Blotting, RT-qPCR, EMSA, and Primex.
