Dr Costas Patinios

Constantinos Patinios, also known as Costas, obtained his PhD from the Laboratory of Microbiology at Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands. During his PhD, he developed novel and widely applicable CRISPR-Cas genome engineering tools for prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, and he used these tools for metabolic engineering. Costas joined the Beisel lab as a postdoc at the beginning of 2023 with the ambition to advance existing CRISPR-based genome engineering and CRISPR-based diagnostics tools.
