About
Friso Schut obtained his MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands). During his MSc studies, he focused on enhancing homology-directed genome editing techniques using various CRISPR-Cas-based tools in non-model yeast and filamentous fungi. After a brief period at International Flavors & Fragrances working on protein engineering in both Palo Alto (California, USA) and Leiden (Netherlands), Friso joined the Beisel lab in 2024. His current research is dedicated to developing a Cas12a2-based tool for programmable counterselection in eukaryotes.
