About

Taís completed her MSc in Bioscience and Biotechnology at the Instituto Carlos Chagas (Curitiba, Brazil) in 2018 where she worked on the development of a molecular diagnostic method for sepsis. She then worked in research and development before joining the Westermann lab with the HIRI Graduate Program “RNA & Infection” in August 2021. Her PhD project aims to apply antisense oligonucleotides to manipulate Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron metabolism.
