Dr Yan Yan

Yan Yan obtained her PhD in Microbiology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan (China) in June 2024. During her PhD study, she worked on exploring the mechanisms of novel bacterial defense systems, especially the CBASS system. She joined the Beisel lab as a postdoc in 2025. Her current research focuses on characterizing the phylogenetic diversity of CRISPR-Cas12a2 systems.
